ACT NHW Association Inc. has acquired its first central office in the 27 years of its existence as a part of the Canberra community.
This is not to say that NHW hasn’t previously had genuine administrative support from its partners from time to time, particularly ACT Policing, however, it is the first time that the association which is completely governed by civilian volunteers, has had a ‘headquarters’ type office space and a visible presence where the Board of Management can locate and house the organization.
Entering into a landmark Memorandum of Understanding with the Havelock Housing Association Inc. and with the help of terrific people like Loc Luu and Mike Kinniburgh, the ACT NHW Board is steadily organizing the dedicated office space and lounge, located at Havelock House, 85 Northbourne Avenue Turner (just north of the Canberra CBD)
It is a work in progress and the public is welcome to meet with the ACT NHW President, Mrs Margaret Pearson, who is located on site between 10am and 2pm each Thursday with the 15th December being the last time for 2011, re-commencing sometime in January.
The fully refurbished ACT NHW office will be officially launched early in 2012 and details for this will be published on this web site.
